Urban Forest Project

Pinecones are essentially the "wombs" of a tree. This female cone on the poster bore the seeds of a Pacific Northwestern pine and was brought to me on the occasion of the birth of my children. The cones commonly found on the forest floor have performed their reproductive functions already. The word mother was important to me this year.
